I am not fundraising. My opponents are and I am not worried that they are, but to raise $50,000 to $100,000+ seems way over the top for a city council race. I wonder who benefits that much from a seat on the city council. I understand being a City Council Member looks good on a resume for future endeavors however I would question the means to reach that goal. Did you earn it or coattail it? Money buys a lot of things and can cloud intentions but it can’t buy character. A sea of lawn signs does not ensure a worthy candidate.
I am spending my own money, $1,000. More importantly I am spending my time. I am making my own signs, I co manage this site, I make my own business cards, I make my own tee shirts and I am talking to people and learning. I am trying to earn a seat on this council. I am investing myself in the City.
I understand that my approach has handicapped my chances, however I know that I am running for the right reasons and the overwhelming support I get from everyone that I know in this city and all the new people I meet on a daily basis motivates me that much more to keep pushing on and to win.
Stay motivated and positive. Your wholesome approach is what everyone needs.
Chris McEvoy is the greatest thing to happen to Costa Mesa. Someone who actually cares about Costa Mesa, and isn’t looking to further his political career….He’s an individual asking to represent the many individuals who make up this beautiful melting pot of a city…..Chris is one of us.
Vote McEvoy!!!!!!!!!
Where can I donate for a t shirt. My sons name is Christoper McEvoy he has Down Syndrome and would be thrilled as would I to participate. Your campaign and personal aspirations are inspirational. We should have more politicians like you.
Didn’t know much about your campaign until my neighbor put one of your signs up. Just went on your site today and read through your platform, etc.. and agree with all that you stand for. I’ve been a Costa Mesa resident for the past 15yrs and love this lil town with all its diversity.
I’m putting you on my blog at http://www.dalybread.blogspot.com throwing my support your way, and advising all of those that are able to do so as well.
Can we use our resources to print up signs and promotional goods for next election ? Your fight for Costa Mesa and the future of the enrichment of our city was inspiring and your efforts awoke many citizens….we support you 110% !!
